What is Ames’® Snow Seal® Light Commercial Residential Grade?
Ames’® Snow Seal® Light Commercial Residential Grade is a thick, high solids, high-grade, high adhesive, white, elastomeric, acrylic technology, plastic coating that stretches with the roof surface. Ready to use – no mixing required. Ames’ Snow Seal Light Commercial Residential Grade goes where water goes and stops leaks while providing a highly reflective surface and elastic seal. This bright white coating is up to 85% reflective. Snow Seal will dry rapidly on warm days to form up to a 400% elastic roofing membrane that remains flexible in low temperatures. Snow Seal Light Commercial Residential Grade resists cracking and peeling, drastically reducing the expansion and contraction that tears roofs apart; it extends the life of old roofs. Snow Seal bonds easily to virtually any surface including mobile homes, RV roofs, tar roofs, metal roofs and rolled roofing. Glues old roofs together. Reduces the room temperature from up to 120 degress F.
Where to Use:

Ames’® Snow Seal® Light Residential Commercial grade can be applied with a paint brush, a push broom, a low nap roller with a long handle or a Commercial Airless Sprayer. In addition, you may need Ames® Peel & Stick Seam Tape and scissors or a utility knife. For larger commercial jobs, we recommend a commercial/industrial airless sprayer. Standard product coverage on a smooth surface is 100 sq. ft. per gallon per coat (est. 10ml). More than one coat recommended, more coats equal longer life.
Clean and Prepare the Roof. Read all label instructions before beginning. Always run a test patch first in an inconspicuous area to ensure that proper adhesion and drying occurs and the product works to your satisfaction. Be sure surfaces are clean and dry before the coating application. All major cracks, joints and seams should be caulked with Blue Max Trowel-Grade liquid rubber. Do not use a silicone caulk. Follow seam taping instructions. Mask all sensitive areas before starting.
Weather and Drying Guidelines:
Snow Seal® Commercial Residential Grade is best applied between 40 to 90 degrees F. on warm dry surfaces. Ready to use, no mixing required. Apply when the streets are dry, the sun is in the sky and no inclement weather is forecast. Dries in 1-2 hours, depending on thickness of application and weather; cures in 24 hours. Low temperatures, high humidity and evening and morning dew will require increased drying/curing time.
