Safe-T-Deck™
 Ames Research Laboratories' Safe-T-Deck is a pure, water based,
environmentally friendly, adhesive acrylic latex safety
paint that is skid resistant. It preserves and protects
by substantially increasing the strength of the surface
through adhesion. It also seals out moisture and renews
the old surface, while providing an excellent skid-resistant
finish that is ideal for pedestrian traffic. Safe-T-Deck
is easy to apply.
Ames’ Safe-T-Deck is self priming and
can be used alone, but in roof deck applications it can
be used with Ames’ Super Elasto-Barrier, a liquid
rubber primer/sealer that is up to 1000% elastic and stops
leaks fast. It has quick, excellent adhesion to wood, concrete,
metal, asphalt and fiberglass, forming the base for a long
lasting waterproof roof deck application. Together, Super
Elasto-Barrier and Safe-T-Deck preserve and protect your
roof deck, patio or other exterior/interior floor surface,
while helping to prevent costly slips and falls.
Both waterbase products are environmentally
safe and user-friendly. Each is ready to apply and easy
to use. Ames products have little odor, cleans up with water
and dries in minutes.
Safe-T-Deck can be used alone and is ideal
for: Stairways and Walkways,
Wheelchair Ramps, Porches
and Patios, Boat Decks
and Boat Docks, Concrete
Decks, Decks and Roof
Decks, Concrete, Metal
and Wood. Poorly drained decks with pooling
water after a rain, require multiple coats of Super Elasto-Barrier
prior to applying Safe-T-Deck
Concrete floors should be wire brushed and
power-washed. In certain situations a shot-blaster may be
needed to roughen the surface. Read all label instructions
before beginning. Always run a test patch first in an inconspicuous
area, to ensure that proper adhesion and drying occurs and
the product works to your satisfaction.
Coverage
Standard product coverage is one gallon per 100 sq. feet
per coat. Rough surfaces may require additional coating.
Most decks will need 2 to 3 coats. Roof decks with roof
fabric will need 5 coats.

I ordered your Super Primer and Safe-T-Deck
for my 15yr old wood deck on back of my home. We were
tired of burning our feet and getting splinters in
our feet and our guests feet. Boy does this stuff
work!!! We finished replacing our deck boards that
were rotten, and put down the Super Primer first (by
sprayer 3 coats) and we thinned the Safe-T-Deck and
put 3 coats down by roller. Now our deck is splinterless
and cool to our feet, even on the hottest 100 degree
day in full sun. We love it!! Hope it lasts for a
long time.

|  Ames'® Super Elasto-Barrier™
Ames' Super Elasto-Barrier
with dual rubber technology.
Super Elasto-Barrier is a waterborne liquid
dual-rubber coating that has better adhesion than before.
It is used primarily for roof, wall, and roof deck waterproofing
in extreme wet situations such as ponding water. It has
excellent adhesion to rusty surfaces. Super Elasto-Barrier
is especially effective in saving old tar roof systems.
It flows into cracks and crevices as a liquid, and then
sets up as a durable rubber to seal leaks wherever they
occur.
It is waterbase, ready to apply and easy to use. It can
be applied with a commercial airless sprayer. It stretches
up to 1000% to expand and contract with the surface. Super
Elasto-Barrier has been specially formulated for colder
weather and to resist fungus, mold, and mildew. Super Elasto-Barrier
is potable water compliant, and contains no toxic substances
after curing. Super Elasto-Barrier is your best choice for
flat roof repair.

Your Products are Great
I bought some Super Elasto-Barrier,
Maximum-Stretch and seam tape to use on my flat roofed
garage with rolled roofing. In the eight years I have
owned my home I have always had trouble with leaks.
I have a 1000 sq. ft. garage so it’s not a small
structure. Your product went on with such ease. In
the last two weeks we have had a couple of downpours
or rain and two days of constant rain. NO LEAKS!!
I am so amazed. It is so nice to not have to worry
about it anymore. If anyone has troubles with leaks
I will pass on your name to them. I am going to let
my roof go until next spring to see how tough winter
is on it. Then next spring I will get some more Maximum-Stretch
and give the areas where I have trouble another coat.

Ames® Research Laboratories' Super Primer
is a unique, elastomeric plastic sealant, primer and adhesive
for concrete, tile, rubber, wood, metal, and many hard-to-stick
surfaces. It penetrates deeply into the surface to actually
bind together the molecules of the surface it is being applied
to. Rotting and deteriorating surfaces can be restored to
a somewhat new condition and often the surface life can
be extended for one or more years of usefulness. Super Primer
adhesive sealant strengthens and helps preserve surfaces
from mildew and moss formation, and stops concrete efflorescence.
With up to 100 to 300% elasticity, Super Primer is able
to move with the surface as it expands and contracts. Super
Primer is highly resistant to cracking and peeling. It is
ready to use and easy to apply, simply roll, brush, or spray
it on. Super Primer is pearlescent white in liquid form,
and dries to a clear finish. Super Primer dries rapidly
to a slight tack in 10 - 20 minutes at 70 degrees Fahrenheit,
and even faster with sun contact.

Tape
Seam taping is an easy process and an
important step in properly preparing your surface before
applying Ames Coatings and Paints.

Why is it
important?
Hot and cold temperature changes will
cause a roof, wall, or deck to expand and contract. Over
time, cracks and leaks can develop. The purpose of seam
taping is to provide reinforcement over areas prone to splitting,
such as seams or joints, and create a “bridge”
that ties the surfaces together so water cannot seep through.
Seam tape is used around roof vents, on flashings, over
cracks and gaps, along the seams on metal or RV roofs, and
in many other applications.
